Great Food, Great Drinks and an amazing happy hour with 50% off!Definitely looking to get back here whenever in the area! Great venue anytime of day, lunch – afterwork drinks – to late night bar.
The best happy hour in London. 5-8pm. 7 Days a week. All beer is half price and deals on all other drinks. Please comment if you know of a better happy hour.
I rather amusingly found myself in one of the worst examples of a typical West End bar the other day, shortly followed by another!Every now and then I go through my list of bars to check none have closed before Ive had a chance to get there. I came across The Warwick, a bar I dont remember putting on the List, but whose website promises to let you escape the West End bustle at The Warwick. Surrounding you with a genuine laid back ambiance that perhaps country retreats are renowned for, we pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere, tasty food and great range of wine & drinks. How had I never noticed this pub before, right by Piccadilly?Well, probably because its a total craphole. As I neared the corner I saw what looked like a typically country-type pub and assumed I was going there. No that is the Leicster Arms. The Warwick is the one with the silver lettering opposite. Silver lettering. Already I thought I had made some mistake. I entered anyway. Some dreadful mainstream pop was blaring and on my way to the loo I noticed one of the rooms was called The Crystal Lounge. Oh dear. I waited for my friend, apologized, and we left without even staying for a drink. jaminaward.wixsite.com
I went to The Warwick to get a quick lunch, as it’s situated only a 5 minutes walk away from my office. And my experience was bad from the word go. Here are the things that went wrong:1) As soon as I reached I told the waitress (who later told me that it’s her first day at work today) that I’ll be using a tastecard for the lunch today. For which she said it’s fine. I took a table and waited for 20 minutes to be even given a menu. When I got the menu, I waited again forever to order and once they took my order, they again took a lot of time to bring me the food.2) Once I had finished I asked her to bring me the cheque (which took another 10 minutes) and as I had already suspected the waitress (she was really clumsy) had not given me the 50% discount even though I gave her my tastecard.3) She took the cheque and disappeared again. I couldn’t wait no more. I got up and stood at the cashier until the head-waitress finally attended me and heard my problem to which she was not sorry at all. Instead I got a rude comment that I shouldn’t expect to get a discount without booking (Their listing on tastecard website not mentions about pre-booking at all) She did give me the discount ultimately. All in all, I spent an hour in the restaurant, out of which 50 were spent on waiting for the food and 10 on eating. However, there is one thing that wasn’t that bad: The food. I had ordered Chicken Breast Burger and it was cooked very well. The chips were great too and I totally loved their dips. May be one day when I have lot of time to waste and don’t really care about poor table service, I will go again to eat that burger. londoncoffeeblog.com
This bar is situated a ten minute walk from Oxford Circus station. It is quite pricy and like a typical bar it is not really a place one would go to converse over drinks. The drinks were expensive, with half a pint of beer costing a little over 5. There was seating both upstairs and downstairs, with the latter being snug and comfortable. They happened to have a dance floor and a DJ playing as well. Music was good but too loud, and the person sitting opposite me was barely audible. The service was mediocre and did not really live up to my expectations. Overall, as my experiences of bars go, this was not a particularly great one.
Out in Regent Street? This is the best watering hole arround…. I have been to the Warwick on a number of occasions now. Every time, the service has been excellent and the food has been tasty, but to be honest, who would really come here to Eat! It’s a bar/club!! The atmosphere is great, the music is excellent, no shonky DJ’s here, and if you have booked an area, they really do look after you. One of my favorite bars of all time.Oh, the foods not bad either.
