This has to be the worst bar in Chingford? It’s dirty smelly the glasses are never collected.Last visit somebody had thrown up in the sink.The draft beer is more than often off and undrinkable.Drink bottled beers, it’s safer.When I enquired to the management company why they ran such a poor pub they said they would look into it nothing was ever done.Pub needs gutting and rebranding, we need a gastro pub in Highams park.
Absolutely awful.Such a shame. When Highams Park is on the up and nearby Walthamstow Village is attracting a decent crowd of locals, The County Arms continues to disappoint. Highlights of today’s visit included* 2 women and about 60 men* Most customers dirty and drinking pint after pint since lunchtime* Smell of cats and wet dogs* Uncollected glasses* Sticky tables* Bar staff sweaty, dirty finger nails and tired in appearance* Overcrowding; tables pushed together* Poor furnishings* Old and dated light fixtures and furniture* Smokers allowed to prop open doors and smoke in doorways* General ambiance of roughSuch a shame. Can’t wait for a better company to completely refurbish this place; gut it, re-paint it, get some new furniture, lose the dark ceilings and bring in a better clientele. Put the prices up and lose the rough unshaven old men that sit at the bar for 8-10 hours a day, rolling their cigarettes ready for their regular trips to the doorway to smoke (only to blow all the smoke inside the bar).If only this bar was modelled on the Queens Arms in E17, then we’d be bringing in the better locals than what this bar sees.
