We spent the day in Manchester shopping, and round about dinner time we found ourselves feeling a little peckish. As we were down near St Anne’s church we came across Annies Caf and Restaurant, and decided to call in for a bite to eat.We decided to sit in the caf (the restaurant is downstairs). The place was clean and tidy and the chairs were very comfortable. We ordered a sandwich each. My wife ordered a pot of Earl Grey Tea, while I ordered a Cup of Latte. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh and the bread was delicious. The sandwiches were accompanied with a salad garnish and some crisps. The sandwiches had plenty of filling in them and with the garnish and crisps we both felt reasonably fed.My wife made 3 cups of tea with her pot of Earl Grey, while I had 2 cups of Latte. The bill came to 20.80p which we thought was very reasonable. It certainly compares well with Costa, where 2 cups of tea and two cups of Latte would have cost at least 12.My wife tells me that the Ladies toilets were exquisite, with top grade toiletries and moisturisers being available, and little towels to dry your hands on.My wife ALWAYS judges a place based on the condition and state of the toilets, as well as the food and service, so she gives Annies 10 out of 10. The young waitress was very pleasant and helpful too.We will definitely call into Annies again when we are next in Manchester.
