Other than the pubs and drinking hoses, Ask Italian was one of those that was opened till later hours for dinner. As what many had mentioned, they served 2 shots of lemonade on the house at the start. We tried the Burrata, Carbonara and the Calzone carne. The bacon seemed to be a bit on the salty side, wasn’t sure if it was a norm in Manchester. Overall, I would say the food was good under the casual dining catagory.
ASK is on my list of places I’ll go in on impulse. I trust the quality of the good and the level of service. I was not disappointed yesterday evening. I had a mushroom pasta dish that was yummy and had plenty of creamy sauce. For pudding I went for the two scoops of ice cream, one vanilla and one salted caramel. Also there was Prosecco!
The restaurant is in a lovely location and the ambience inside is pleasant too. I had Arancini balls for starters. It was quite tasty. For mains, I requested the waitress to do a Linguini Carbonara with mushrooms and red pepper, instead of the one with pancetta on the menu. She was very courteous and even gave suggestions. The dish was well prepared, however it lacked seasoning. Will definitely visit again to try some other items and the desserts.
