Nice small Italian restaurant with a nice size menu. The starter of Mozzarella wrapped with Parma Ham was very nice. The two mains we had were a Roasted Seabass and a Chicken Rissotto. The Seabass would have been better if the sauce wasn’t so overpowering but was still nice with nice veg as well. The Rissotto was just okay, bit too many mushrooms and chicken looked more like fish. I Would recommend it still.
The food was awful
6.60 for 2 small glasses of lemonade says it all & the food is not much better than McDonald’s either. Don’t waste your money here.
First time visit review. We bought a deal on the Living Social network for a meal for two at the Ciao Bella. We had passed the restaurant many times before but had never been in. Our first impression was it is quiet small but it is lovely and cosy and very friendlyWe were about 10mins late for our table but it did not matter whilst we were waiting they made sure we were very comfortable and asked what we would like to drink. We ordered our starter and had to wait quite a while for it to come but when it did it was lovely, very tasty and very hot. Also the portions are very good. Our main meal came and the only comment I would make it had a bit to much sauce poured over the steak but once again lovely, tasty and piping hot. The vegetable were cooked just right not like some restaurants where they are over cooked. Very popular restaurant plenty of people in there, very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. Would I recommend it to others ? Yes we would visit Yes we would .
We visited Ciao Bella last Friday on a wim basis and as a change from China Town. Both of us were extremely taken back by the friendly staff and the quality of the food…. My favourite restaurant in Manchester used to be Alberts Shed I can now say that Ciao Bella tops their very high standards and has become our top restaurant in Manchester. I would recommend that anyone gives this restaurant a chance as you wont be disappointed…!!!! The Osso Buco Lamb dish and tiramisu is amazing!!
Best italian Restaurant in town!. Came on Saturday evening was a fantastic night!! my friend told me about this authentic traditional italian palce on portland street thought id give it a try. i was greeted by the waiter who then sat us down and lit our candle which i thought was dead nice, the restaurant was packed with a great atmosphere. the waitress came and took our drink order which she then recomended the chanti flask which is 1 and half liter!! we thought we give it a try the boss himself came and opened the bottle and told us that it was all the the way from Tuscany, great wine must try! for food we ordered king prawns, bocconcini roma and shared a garlic bread cheese. mains we got t bone steak which was to die for it came with roast patatoes carrots and coliflower a big dish and my friend got Osso Buco the lamb was cooked with perfection this also came with Veg. the waiter came to see if everything was ok the service was great overall everything was fantastic. i would defentley recommend this restaurant i will be defentley be coming back soon and ill get desert next time.
Went in on a chance and really glad I did. It’s actually run by Italians which must help. There was just a different touch about all the food. Garlic bread was the best I’ve ever had, and in fact they bake all their own breads which were lovely. Main dish of chicken with veg and spicy sausage was very well done, like good, experienced home cooking. The waiter was friendly and just attentive enough. Food came quickly. Very pleasant overall, you can tell they thought about all the little details. the decor was a bit funny, with Italian football shirts hanging around, so maybe not one for a very posh date, but it was pleasant and quite cozy. A great alternative to Chinatown!
