Nice food … but. I forgot to add, we also fancied a sweet and a coffee (My wife loves a coffee after a meal). Nobody approached us with a sweet menu or asked if we required a coffee etc. Business must be booming ,because these are basics. The place was packed ,so obviously they are doing something right (The food). It annoys me because its my type of place. My misses prefersTapas/Italian resteraunts and because of the lack of service thats were we will end up going back to.31 Oct, 2010Nice food …But !!. Lets get one thing straight, the Sunday lunch takes some beating. However, we had a table upstairs, the waitress took our order but didnt ask what wine we wanted (I had to ask for a wine menu). When the white wine arrived it was just plonked on the table, After 10 minutes i went to the bar and asked for a cooler (There was loads of them and she just gave me one, why not just bring one with the wine??). We finished our meal and was expecting the waiteress to take our dirty glasses (4 of them ) and our dirty plates. We wanted to finish our bottle of wine in a relaxing environment, but when you have had dirty plates in front of you for 25 minutes ,the ambience quickly disappears. Eventually i decided enough was enough and cleared the table myself, returning the plates down the corridor to the kitchen. This is my first visit to this establishment ,having seen some good revues, the food isnt a problem. The problem is the lack of staff ,i am not aiming this revue at the 2 waitresses as such, becasuse they were running around hear there and everywhere. The service was shocking ,to such a extent that we will probably eat elswhere when next in town ( Which is often). Its such a shame when premises get the food right but dont match it with the standard of service.. I spoke to the assistant manager , who was apologetic and admitted they were short staffed , but simple things like not giving you a cooler with your wine when they are all behind the bar shows a degree of resting on your laurals in my opinion, its such a shame !!

Nice pub, friendly staff, good atmosphere. The menu sounds good but on a few occasions the quality of the food has been poor. They try hard but the fundamentals don’t meet the mark in my opinion.
