We came here on a whim on Saturday night and it was fantastic. We booked a table which was a good move because the place was busy when we got there. The food was really great and tasty. I’d read the reviews and thought it was going to be but it exceeded the expectations. Prices were reasonable especially considering how good it was. We will be going and I’d recommend you go too!
I used to eat at La Tasca regularly when I lived in Manchester. I’m visiting from Australia & was excited to go to my old favourite tapas place. What a terrible disappointment! Order was wrong, no plates provided, and we couldn’t catch the waitress’s eye for love nor money despite us really wanting desserts (and only a couple of other diners in). Then, once I had paid, provided constructive feedback & left, I realised that the ‘3 for 2’ had not been applied to the bill. Not good.
They had me at the decor. Its so chic, so quirky and so Spanish! There is quite a lot of space too, and there is a dance floor in the basement! We decided to order some tapas (of course) and a Paella de Mariscos to share. The calamari and king prawns were quite good and their dips delicious. Although the salsa chicken wings didn’t feel very right to me, it tasted like another sea food dish, and I was quite disappointed, but it could be just me. Although the real winner was paella. They serve it in the huge dish (they say two can share, but I bet even three can, we did). It was really well made and the sea food toppings of king prawns, squid, white fish were absolutely perfect! The spices were just right and the texture so good. We finished the awesome food with very generous portions of desserts – Spanish Cheese board Dulce Placeres, which is nothing but an assortment of various small desserts – cheese cake, strawberries, chocolate sauce and a whole lot of other stuff. There was nothing extraordinary about the desserts, you won’t miss much if you skip them too. The stuff which you shouldn’t miss is paella. This place was very easy on pocket too. We paid 40 within three of us (three very satisfying full us) for three course meal, without alcohol. Absolutely recommended! londoncoffeeblog.com
