We booked several large tables at the Raj Doot, for my leaving ‘do’. Everything was perfect. Suman was easy to work with and the terms and conditions of the booking were made really clear. The staff were then, however, prepared to bring a little flexibility to the arrangements and were very kind. The service was impeccable. At one point, I spilled a large glass of wine right across the bar, and the staff just handed me another full glass, while asking me if I was OK. The most important part of the night – the food – was truly excellent. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Whether you are thinking of a quiet night out, or planning a larger ‘event’, do consider this family-run gem of a restaurant.

Camer here with a party of 12. Food is very authentic, service is quick and friendly. I had the Nepalese specialty, Chicken Johl which was very flavoursome.

AMBIENCE 2Standard terrible dimly lit, meaningless interiors that we see in all Indian Restaurants across the West 🙁 SERVICE 2Pretty lousy. They make you sit at the reception till you place the order. Never seen this anywhere before. Served some wrong items that they took back, but bill see us for anyway. Understaffed, so we had to wait each time we needed something. FOOD 2All dishes very average 70’s style. Big chunky hard chicken pieces, rubbery Naan, terrible masalas, DRINK 4Mango Lassi – Pretty good. Had a Peroni beer – was nice & chilled DESSERTS Did not try

The place is in the centre of the city, well approachable. The place represent indian smell and sense. The food is really good. Serving time is little much with little staff.

After trying out a wide range of sub-continental cuisine, I count Rajdoot to be one of the good ones around. If you are looking for a good option within the centre of the city, you should try Rajdoot.I liked the portions you get esp. with the menu option and you should give it a try. Note that this is not a next-door curry house and you would not find the curry list one gets used to. They do the curries the way they are meant to be. e.g. no chicken rogan josh!Dal tadka is a must try.

Not as good?. The Rajdoot when it was in King st the pick of all Indian dining in Manchester, since its move to Albert sq ,we feel that the quality of the food has dipped.Though maybe others have come up to the plate and ‘Rajja’s’ is not as original as was.Still go now and again and would recommend any visitor to Manchester, its still cool place,a Deffo from us.

This is the best Indian place in city center. It’s actualy got Nepalese inspired dishes, but there is still plenty of wonderful Indian food, the butter naan is amazing and the staff is attentive and energetic. A definite must!
