I loved the chicken quesadilla, while the pork tacos were a bit too spicy for me and the service is pretty slow at lunchtime. Beautiful location for an outdoor lunch on a summer day.

Inside is just like the other Wahacas Ive been to; bright and open with lots of Mexican artefacts and the same Day Of The Dead inspired toilet door signs, well why would you change them? There are a number of bigger dishes suitable for eating individually but I like to share several dishes from the street food menu. Its a far more interesting and sociable way to eat.Street food dishes are primarily tacos, tostadas, taquitos and quesadillas; we ordered a couple of each to get a good range. Like most tapas style restaurants dishes are brought to the table as and when theyre ready.First to arrive were tostadas; Salmon Sashimi and Crab & Avocado, topped with salmon sashimi, avocado and crispy onions with chipotle mayo and crab with chipotle mayo & sliced avocado. The seafood was beautifully fresh and the soft textures a great contrast to the crispy tortillas. foodgeekblog.co.uk

Although the last eat-out was Mexican, yet we entered this place. The refurbished Corn Exchange looked fantastic from outside and inside, and since this is the first Wahaca in Manchester, we had to try it.The decor is fantastic, specially the wooden spiral stairs in the middle of the restaurant. The bar on the first floor overlooks the inside of the Corn Exchange dome and looks fabulous at night, bet it will look better during the day.The tequila margaritas (tamarind and white peach) were perfect accompaniment to our street food assortment. We went for the 8 dish combo for two, which was priced 32.50.It came with 2 Salmon tostadas,3 Pork pibil tacos,1 Large chipotle chicken quesadilla,2 Pea & mint empanadas,Frijoles with chorizo,Broccoli with green goddess dressing, 1Grilled corn on the cob andChurros with chocolate as dessert.Everything was tasty and perfectly presented. The best was the Frijoles (black bean sauce) with chorizo. Churros are not my favourite anyway, but the dark chocolate sauce was worth wiping the cup clean. The service was warm and prompt.A lovely place for a fun evening.
