French bistro eating at it’s best. This is a lively restraurant just outside of the northern city walls. The food is always excellent and they do offer many good lunch and mid-week deals. Chez Jules often doesn’t allow table bookings except for large groups, though otherwise it is a real pleasure to go there.
Wendy enjoyed her food especially the vegetables and the sauce with her sea bass which was cooked superbly. I had a huge duck breast and experimented with frogs legs. All topped off with a delightful chenin blanc. Portion sizes are generous and food is of a good standard. recommended especially on Mondays and Tuesdays. Ssanque!
Tuesdays…Awesome! 2 course and a bottle of Wine 15!!
Fantastic value lunch menu, 8.50 for two courses. We had the calamari and chorizo salad and the black pudding, bacon and onion with mustard vinegrette to start and the mutton tagine and the salmon fillet for our main. With a half bottle of claret for 7.50 and a chocolate marquis with prune sauce it was a near-perfect meal. Service was also friendly, attentive and helpful. Honestly couldn’t find fault.
