I can’t recommend these guys highly enough. The service was above and beyond. Then I got the food home and it was very, very good. I’ll be back: you should go.
An extraordinary delicacy place where authentic Indian/Pakistani food is being served. A short hop kinda place which is quite congested, service little slow here but food is mind blowing.Tried veg platters in the beginning, going forward with archari paneer and paneer butter masala, to be honest, it was really good. The presentation didn’t excite me though, but we can adjust if you get Indian food in Notts.Deserts were quite attractive and literally stole my heart, specially gulab jamun with icecream! Loved it.
Excellent food, great service.. This is really a hidden treasure in Nottingham city centre. I’ve eaten there three times in the last fortnight while back in the UK on business. The decor and table settings are plain compared with some Indian restaurants, but the quality of the food and service are spot on. The owner and staff are friendly and very willing to make recommendations.I’ve had the Lamb Madras, Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Rogan Josh so far and each has the requisite layers of flavour. I tend to judge an Indian chef’s skill based on an ability to apply heat without destroying the underlying explosion of flavour in the blend of spices used as a basis for the sauce. The food prepared here does not disappoint. The garlic naan may not be quite as light and fluffy as in other places, but the garlic is baked in and not added as an afterthought.I’ll be back!
Hidden gem. I’ve been eating in the Balti House for near on 20 years now.The staff are always very friendly and the food superb.Sam is a great host and will always find time to talk to you whether in a group or on your own.If you like Indian food you really must try this place. The food is excellent and over the years I’ve tried more of the spicy dishes. Chicken Ceylon is the hottest i will go..but along with the heat there is such great flavour!Do not deny your taste buds the opportunity to sample the food.Additionally if you don’t have time to sit and eat they will prepare your food to take out and book a cab for you should you require one.In all a very enjoyable experience.Get yourselves down there!
Balti House of Horror. Please Do not go there!!! After reading the reviews we thought sounds great but this must be the worst place i have ever eaten. We love Indian Food and we have eaten all over the uk even and abroad so please do not go there. There must be somthing going on with the reviews also been fooled here i think so here we go: The place was supposed to be refurbished yeah what the sign outside as to me the place was horrible both the Ladies & Gents was filthy i would not sit on the toilet seat as it was absolutely dirty and we were the first couple in there, ladies toilet was like a swamped floor. The doors were terrible with 1 coat of like white matt paint that was see through no effort, what about a coat of GLOSS??. My Plate arrived and was not clean i picked something off the edge of it also my Glass was not clean not a great start, sometimes you have to try the little Curry Houses on the side streets we should of stuck with the One behind the Theartre or went to the Curry Lounge but this place was awful. The waiter kept looking as though the Chef had died the night before and he was thinking how were they going to get this sizzling dish thing working. the service was rubbish by him and when the curry come to the table the Naan was below average nothing special considering they are supposed to be the only place with a proper Tandoor Oven rice was not good and very oily. Chic Tik Jalfrezi was like almost black sauce with nothing in it apart for some onion and a few tiny tiny pieces of chicken about the size of one of your finger nails, the sizzling dish exactly the same, shocking curry and very very poor standard nothing in it. He said there would be fresh chillies but nothing and the meat was not even Tikka. The Menu Card was also grubby and when i asked what dishes are Balti he replied they are all Balti, somehow i cannot see that in the discription on the menu. No never again so save yourself and do yourself a favour do not use this Restaurant as they are COWBOYS not INDIANS and go up the town. Good luck. What a JOKE place Verdict 0000000.Points the place should be reported!! and shut down. so much for reading these reviews.
Discovered this place randomly and must say I have become quite the regular… The general atmosphere is friendly, staff are courteous, attentive and always get service with a smile. The food is impeccable and special credit must go to the chef he really knows how to cook a lamb balti.. The blend of spices used and the aroma of this dish will certainly get ur tastebuds going..Very flavoursome to say the least and truly authentic! Highly recommended by myself.. Although I like my food to be hotter than some can handle, the chef can really cater to specific preferences and this is demonstrated in what they serve..They were more than happy to comply when asked.. So if ur in Nottingham give this place a go.. U wnt be disappointed.
Very reliable, always decent curries.. The great thing about the Balti House is that it gets the basics right. The curries dont look like an oil slick, and arent overloaded with raw spices, you can taste everything thats supposed to be there. Food is always good. I usually go for the set meal, and rarely can you come across a good restaurant where you get change from a tenner after getting a starter, main course and also rice. (i think the set meal is about 8).
