Dissapointed. After reading reviews I had very high expectations for my planned visit to The Larder. The dining area is stunning, sadly not so the food. I was very dissapointed with my experience! I went for afternoon tea with a Hen party of 24 ladies. The Larder might be fine with couples and very small parties, however, they don’t seem able to cope with large parties. The quality of the food was not representative of the higher than usual cost I normally pay for afternoon tea. Sandwich fillings were basic and the tea was watery. The service was quite poor, with all of us having to repeatedly ask the waitresses for replenishment of various things like jam and cream for the scones, water for the teapots and milk to mention a few! I will be taking afternoon tea elsewhere in future.
