Lunch at HMP Brixton comes highly recommended. Security is extremely strict – no mobile phones or cash accepted in the restaurant and plastic cutlery only. Alcohol is also off limits so a long boozy lunch is definitely not on the cards here! The restaurant is a training school so the odd mishap does occur but overall the food and service is excellent. The restaurant does change your perceptions of prisoners and with re-offending rates cut from 50-12%, it provides offenders with a chance to turn their lives around.
