I love their cakes, croissants and Danish pastries but the service is just not there. This could be a great little place in Clapham but the staff is so rude and uninterested in their guests that isn’t worth going. Plenty other places with better service around.
I love the cosy and warm atmosphere at this caf. Every cake and pastry is more tempting than the next one. I have had croissants, madeleines and they were tasty, but the best was their luxurious mocha!
I’ve had ice cream here twice now. First time I had Hazelnut with I think it was called something like Rocky? The second I had the Rocky? with Pistacchio. Well whichever flavour they all tasted really good! I also tried my friend’s. As for the price well it’s around 2 for 1 scoop.It’s down the road very close to the park in Clapham Common, and the location is quite convenient for those wanting to go to or coming from the park.The decoration is cute and has a antique sort of style I guess
With a great view, and a range of outdoor and indoor seating, Madeleine holds a certain charm that is lacking in chain coffee stores. I only stopped in for a quick coffee, making full use of the outside seating and was pleasantly surprised by the quality for such a reasonable price. The service was friendly and whilst I didn’t try any of the baked goods, I was informed that the macarons were a speciality of there’s. A great spot for an afternoon coffee, with a number of freshly baked goods to fill your stomach. A must try.
Great little spot to people watch if you can get one of the outside tables. I have so far only tried their coffee and carrot cake, both of which were very good. The carrot cake was just right – sweet, light and moist. They are also well known for their Macarons, so maybe next time. It is counter service with drinks delivered to your table when ready. The service is friendly and efficient.Made a return visit – the Macarons are really good, melt in the mouth – especially liked the vanilla and raspberry ones. noexpert.co.uk
