We heard that this is a local’s favorite and walking into the place we expected nothing less. However, when it came to the service we were a bit disappointed. We wanted to sit on couple tables, but heard they were reserved for an hour out. When we finally sat, we ordered and we waited. Our order had couple mistakes and one club sandwich had to go back. We waited a while for the sandwich to come back.Otherwise, the menu looked tasty and the prices are fair. The place has nice ambiance, but we really expected some gesture in return of the mistakes.
This was our first stop for food during our weekend in London. And was up there with my favorites. We decided to sit upstairs outdoors which reminded me of some rooftop place you would see in NYC with the pretty fairy lights. We were provided with blankets which was a sweet little touch aswell. The smells walking into the place were amazing. The inside and walking to the bathrooms had a nice alt/hipster vibe to it with a foosball table directly outside the bathrooms. The food was flavorsome- the bruschetta was yum however I wasn’t a fan of the bacon they gave us. I decided to get an espresso martini which I found to strong as I’m not a coffee drink but love the cocktail while I didn’t particularly enjoy it my friend also had got one and loved it- just a matter of opinion and taste buds.
What a fabulous girls breakfast/brunch spot!I met to catch up with an old friend this week, and on arriving, found a friendly face to greet us girls. We then settled into a corner booth and were most impressed with the attentive service that we received without being over-bearing!Onto the food, I ordered the No. 32 Eggs Benedict with honey roast ham and it was delicious! To be honest, with the spinach, there was rather a lot of greenery on the plate, but the presentation of the food was beautiful and the coffees were also really good! All in all, a wonderful breakfast was had! I would return. laurasworld.co.za
The Old Town is such a charming little road in Clapham and this place really stands out. It looks lovely from the outside with a terrace balcony and hanging lights.Inside is just as inviting, it had shabby chic decor and felt really homely. We sat in the back section where they have the open kitchen. The cocktails looked delicious but the passionfruit caiparinha was too sour so we sent it back for some sugar. The homemade lemonade was delicious and I highly recommend it.I order the beer battered beef brisket with sweet potato mash!! My god it was amazing, it literally fell of the bone and melted in your mouth and the flavour was incredible. The sweet potato mash was a large portion, I could have done with a bit more beef to finish it off with as they balance really nicely but alone the mash was too sweet. Regardless the beef was so good id def order it again. My friend had the caesar salad, she enjoyed it but said it needed a little less sauce as it was drowning. We tried the truffle mac n cheese which was good and then finished with the banana and toffee crumble which was divine.I really enjoyed the food overall, unfortunately service wasnt great, we were served by 3 different waiters and found ourselves always looking for one. Its a nice place and the food was good.
If you go for lunch, you need to get the club sandwhich. It is so yummy and so filling you won’t regret your decision. It comes with a yummy dip too!
I am personally not a fan of burgers as I do not have an appetite for them but the halloumi burger at this restaurant was delicious and light and I ate the whole thing!Cute setting of the restaurant , staff are friendly And my friends and I had a lovely time at this place.Looking forward to go back here!
Positives: Awesome roof terrace that is simply unbeatable in the Summer, provided you can get a seat (no reservations taken for the balcony terrace).Drinks are good and bar has an impressive selection. Barmen make a good Mojito variation with sage and pineapple.Negatives: Service has improved but is still sub-standard and half the people working there don’t seem to have a clue what’s on their own menu.Food is generally very good though painfully overpriced ( 14.95 for the Club Sandwich on its own = daylight robbery).
