A little gem hidden among the masses in clapham high street. A great atmosphere (I loved the lit up tree and art displayed) and exceptional service. We started with a mixed bruschetta and they took our pickiness into consideration and presented us with three choices each, the goats cheese and Aubergine was divine and the tomato fresh and full of flavour. My main was a calzone. Good but not exceptional. The cheese wasn’t quite melted but the dough was lovely. It should be served with a side sauce as it was slightly dry but they gave me a large pot when I requested it. Steph Maxwell had chicken pram with potatoes, they weren’t crispy as described and the chicken was slightly too dry, the whole thing needed a sauce to accompany it but all in all, a lovely place, great vibe and the service really made up for the slight issues with the food. Don’t let that put you off, we will be back
The atmosphere and ambiance of the place is very nice and cozy. There is a lot of natural fauna (trees and plants) growing inside the restaurant. The place does tend to get busy but in a good way.In terms of food : we ordered the 4cheese pizza and grilled aubauregene pizza. The pizzas were of good size(12 inch i think) and the bread was very light. They also have a good selection of drinks though i dint sample any. All in all a good place to check out.Pros: Ambiance, location and friendly staffCons: The food did not stand out as something extraordinary. They do not have a stone brick oven which i thought was a let down. In terms of spicy options the offering seemed limited.
Delicous food, great atmosphere!. I heard about Osteria dell’Arte from word of mouth. I came all the way from West London to take my mum out and it was worth it! The restaurant itself is beautifully laid out with a great selection of art and plants, creating a welcoming, unique atmosphere. The food was delicious. Had a starter of FRESH grilled squid, which was exquisite. The main courses were also of an exceptionally high quality and just delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those who love to eat well and everyone else. The staff were friendly, informative and attentive. One of the best restaurant experiences of my life. Loved it!
Disappointing. Came here for Sunday brunch – the waiter forgot two of the things we had ordered & it was very hard to get his attention when we needed too. It wasn’t even that busy. The food itself was good but the service was abysmal – won’t be returning.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Taken here by my daughter who had read good reviews. To be honest I was a bit disappointed. The starter of rosemary bread was lovely and the main courses of lamb and stonebass were nice but tiny portions. With my stonebass there were only two pieces of ravioli and a tiny bit of side salad. It cost about 14 and definitely not value for money. I was also disappointed with my tiramisu dessert which was nothing more than whipped cream and a very dry portion of sponge. No coffee or marsala flavour whatsoever. The service was adequate, no complaints, but overall I didn’t feel it lived up to its reputation.
Also good Breakfast option. I had the breakfast there this weekend, and have to say it is a good addition to clapham high st! nice portions and well presented! service was wonderful and attentive.my poached egg was slighly over done, but that will not stop me from coming back. The decor is even cosier during the day, as the sky lights, the green plants and wooden tables add a fresh country feel to the dining area
Authentic Italian, sizable portions and tasted great. Had a primi linguine al mare with plenty of seafood, and spicy sausage pizza to share. Looking forward to going back for more.
