DON’T GO!Horrible value for the money, horrible service.. I went there with three other friends, having booked a table for Friday evening. At least they knew about the booking, but from the get go the main waiter (a fat bald guy with glasses) was utterly unhelpful to us. First of all, he forgot to take one of the drinks we ordered. It took about 15 minutes to get it again and the cocktails were massively overpriced. Then, when we took a look at the menu we could see what other people here have said: if you don’t go there with a groupon deal, it’s a complete scam. Horrible value for the money. We tried to get one small taster menu to share for two. The waiter tried to bribe us into trying the all you can eat menu, but we didn’t want it as it was too expensive. We wanted other menu for two people. Then he tried to bribe us rudely again into buying it with the side dishes which went for an appalling 34.90. He didn’t explain anything at all and we had to tell him twice that we didn’t want the side dishes, as he didn’t seem to listen to us or understand English very well. What we got for each was a beef steak, a small chicken breast steak, two English sausages and a lamb steak. And of the 4 beef steaks, only one of them was properly done, the other three were almost raw and we had to ask them to cook them for longer. They didn’t ask us at all how we wanted our steaks at any point or give any explanation. Finally when we got the check, we saw they they had charged us one of the cocktails (the one that took 15 minutes to come to us) twice. We had them amend that and have to prove to the rude waiter that we only ordered one as all our glasses were still in the table. 20 for a substandard dinner. Please don’t go there: food is overpriced, the main waiter is too pushy, rude and doesn’t seem to know or understand English, and the music was most of the time too loud to be able to talk to your friends. Go somewhere else!!
Not worth it…. Went here with a groupon and was significantly overpriced even with the deal. About 4-5 cuts of meat available and after awhile they stopped returning to serve. Choice of one cocktail that was average at best and a couple of pineapple chunks as desert. Suffice to say, a complete waste of money with the groupon, I would recommend saving your money and going to a good quality rodizio…
Very Disappointing. This was bought as a gift to celebrate my 50th Birthday. In all fairness to the restaurant we were using Groupon gift certificates. I love Rodizio and was looking forward to this evening. Sadly we were given a Cocktail (as per gift certificate) but we were given no choice of cocktail whatsoever – drink may have had alcohol in it, – but I couldnt taste it! Salad selection was minimal. Range of meats was extremely limited – not 15 as promised on website, – some of the meat was beautifully cooked and very tasty however much of it was overcooked and possibly not even cooked fresh – but reheated. Dessert we had absolutely no choice over and consisted of 2 slices of partially cooked pineapple. Service was adequate but unexceptional. Sadly I cannot recommend this restaurant.
Awful Experice. We had a really bad experience here last week. The place itself is slightly sad and run down. The staff is kind but doesn’t seem to have a clue. Unprofessional to say the least. The salad bar is poor and badly presented. The worst part though, considering the type of restaurant, is the meet. Scarce, little choice and low quality. After a while they were experting us to stop and made it clear we were not entitled to more!!Never again!
The worst of it’s kind. I’m not new to the Brazilian style picanha restaurants. I’ve been to the benchmark in Fogo De Chao and I’ve been to Porcao in Ipanema in Brazil. This place has now topped Rodizio Rico of Bayswater as the very worst of its kind. The whole point of these restaurants is to be sat there whilst the gaucho’s bring you various cuts of meat but more specifically, various cuts of beef steak. When all you see are 2 gaucho’s serving the meat, you’re in for trouble. In 1 hour spent there, I had 3 cuts of beef, no more offered to me. I had the same cut of Pork offered to me 3 times and Chicken wings and sausages were on offer all night. The salad and non meat bar were terrible. I could have accepted this as you only really dine at these types of places if you’re a carnivore. However, the meat was very bad quality and not cooked thoroughly on the most part. I can understand that some people like their steak rare, however this was bloody to the point that it looked like it was still on the butcher’s shelf.Having tried this place, I’ll never go back. Anyone looking for the real Rodizio style dining experience should try the Preto chain. The one in Wilton Road Victoria is good but for the best available in London, I would recommend the Shaftesbury Avenue branch. The one good thing was that manager did ask my friend what he thought of it which my friend politely informed him. Maybe this will help and things will improve, I’m not holding my breath.
Best things were the fresh salads, hot wedge potatoes, the chicken, the lamb(mutton?). Everything else meaty was overcooked or tasted odd. The beef tasted liver-y… Hmm I’ll have to investigate that. The pork and chicken hearts were very overcooked. Typical barbecue really. Oh well. The staff without exception were friendly and efficient. There was a constant supply of meat coming from the kitchen at the back, past the toilets. Obviously cramped for space but it was convivial and on the whole enjoyable. I thought it expensive though, at 20 each even with a half price Groupon voucher. And that was without wine. I would go again – possibly to the islington one, which is bigger, and as far as I remember has a visible kitchen, which adds an awful lot to the experience.
Best place on Clapham High St!!. I love this place. The food is great and the family that run it are extremely friendly and have chosen great staff to help out on the busier weekend nights. The price is reasonable, and although the restuarant is small the atmosphere is good. I would definitely recommend this place. I have been many times since it opened back in the autumn and its gets better everytime.
