I had a vegetarian curry with rice. This was advertised as a spring special and I was enthused about this dish. I usually dont take the time to give a strong negative review , but I am compelled to do this on this occasion. The food was not fresh, it came in 5 minutes of placing the order I should have walked away , but sadly tried to eat it. It was not good and tasted like it was made a day ago and was a very disappointing meal . I have gone here 2 months ago and did not like what I had then either. I will never go back here and I advise you to walk away if you suspect the food is stale and if it does not look fresh. Overpriced for the quality and service.
I have never left a negative review in my life and I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant. I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard last Friday was very poor. The food was in average. Shocking service from rude and inattentive waiting staff. Ambience was terrible. What happened over there? I loved this place.
The Peppertree is a good local place to eat some Thai food. The prices are reasonable (for London anyway) and I’ve been here a few times before making a review. It has been a hit and miss for me as I’ve been here where the food wasn’t great but the service always is and you never have to wait for a table 🙂 *** must try the green curry fried rice *** #favourite
Good food, pleasant staff, reasonably priced. Place is very close to Clapham Common, only thing is it is the common table seating arrangement so you will have to share a long drawn table with strangers, if you are ok with it – it’s good Thai food. But I was a little disappointed that all curries have shrimp late which leaves a vegetarian with no rice and curry options 🙁 .. So I settled for Pad Thai and Stir fry – which were good. Quantity is more than enough for a single person – order cautiously
Great food, and thoroughly impressed with the menu. We ordered the Pad Thai, chicken green curry, and Papaya salad. For dessert had the amazing yellow beancake. Must say it was quite authentic Thai, but next time must try the Tom Yum!Only disappointment was the seating arrangement. Felt very school canteen and was hard to get cosy. Also noticed people ordering individual dishes, not the usual way to eat Thai, as we shared.
