I ordered 3 cocktails, the bartender began to mix the drinks in 3 separate shakers. Strangely she then started pouring the drinks out into four glasses. When I asked her why she said that one was for her (I had not offered her a drink). Her glass was also filled to the brim whereas the other 3 where only filled half way. When I asked her why she was mixing 4 drinks in 3 shakers she became very aggressive. Overpriced and not worth the hassle with staff that are only out to get drunk themselves.
As a tourist visiting from sunny South Africa, a girlfriend Annie booked us a table as this festive, friendly and fun club! What a night had by all. My first 5/5 in London.Superb live music by Rosie Hopkins!Superb and attentive service by one of the most gorgeous teams of barmen that I have laid eyes on (and a notable mention to the gorgeous Billy Protheroe who went over and above the necessary to ensure that we all had a wonderful time)!Ice cold Prosecco..*Recommendation: Ladies – this establishment is definitely in the business of hiring gorgeous bar staff, so you are in for a treat with all the eye candy walking around. laurasworld.co.za
Venn street has to be my favourite street in Clapham (how boring is that for an opening line) but it makes me feel like I am on holiday and Venn Street records is an excellent addition to it.The decor and ambience is awesome, slightly dingy with a heavy focus on music (as you would expect). The music is loud but that’s what you expect with a place like this. They do great deals for date nights in the week on cocktails and pizza and otherwise, yes the drinks are expensive but no-where near as bad as anywhere in central. The staff are slightly on the side of ambivalent and on the wrong side of ‘kooky’, not exactly service with a smile but for a pre-drink on a weekend or a drink after work, it’s somewhere a bit different to the chain bars on the high street.
