This is a popular spot in summer for drinking outside on the fringe of the common. Slightly pricey for drinks, but food averagely priced with the benefit of outdoor seating, albeit facing the road rather than the common. Plenty of space inside too, with tasteful interior decoration, notably the lighting in the main room. A TV room offers sport viewing too, so all bases are covered.I had a lamb roast which was pretty good – good portion of lamb done well. Not the best roast, but did the job and at a fairly standard price of about 14. We had 20% off with a mates Soho gym membership though, which made it even more palatable. However, my friend says the Abbeville is the best roast in the area and the Rookery over the road is perhaps a nicer spot for indoor drinks. londoncurryblog.com
Terrible food overcooked with the whiff of excessive microwave action. Beer fine. Try peanuts if you’re hungry.
Definitely worth a visit!. Fantastic old hotel that has been mostly kept in original condition on the inside. Lots of different rooms and areas to explore, and they decor is nothing less than quirky and original! Very cosy and homely feel, but still buzzing and exciting!
