What a brilliant bar. Love the concept, love the atmosphere. The cocktails are good and the beer selection too. And the pool tables are good fun. Also the bar itself is really beautiful
I visited the 1920 bar with my colleagues for lunch. As we walked in, it was quite dark with pool tables on the top floor. We were taken down the stairs to another floor with funny shaped sofas and low tables. We had a table reserved for us at the back. There were a few people there for lunch and it seemed very chilled out with nice relaxing, funky music. I had a lovely chicken supreme sandwich which came with a small side salad in a bowl and 4 big wedges, which looked more like roast potatoes. I thought my meal was really nice! However, my colleague ordered a burger but it was pink inside. These burgers are more like steak burgers so you must specify how you like it cooked!! She returned her burger to the kitchen and was offered a bowl of free wedges. The staff were really friendly and felt genuinely bad about my colleague not eating her lunch. The lunch and a coke came to 9 – not too bad for London prices! I would definately return here (apparently it gets busy after work too!).
If you’re in the EC1 region and want to get together with mates to shoot some billiards with a beer in hand, look no further than 19:20. It’s hidden from plain sight so you’ll need to take a couple of turns from the Goswell Road to find yourself here. The ground floor houses a small bar with four pool tables in great condition and long couches along the side. But if you want to get cozy or shake a leg and listen to the DJ spin some tunes, the basement turns into a dance floor. And that’s where you’ll find the longer bar counter as well. They do serve decent food platters along with a pretty good drinks list as well. Since we were there for a party, I didn’t get to sample their main dishes but it does look good on paper. couchcibo.wordpress.com
