The exclusive selection of Belgian beer are the must try as house specialities. can taste all in one visit, need a couple of them to follow. Amazingly tasting Belgian beer and with considerable Achl percentage. The food is a highlight equally to the beers. healthy choices are available. seating options for both indoor and outdoor available. Chimay is house speciality.
Popped into this cosy little Belgian restaurant for a work lunch. The food is hearty with a varied menu of meat, fish, burgers and vegetarian/vegan options and an extensive selection of Belgian beers. On popular recommendation, I went for the mussels with a white wine sauce served with chunky fries. Delicious! My friend had the confit duck leg which was beautifully cooked, served with mash and Savoy cabbage. Service was quick and the atmosphere was warm. Will definitely go back!
Great place for a dinner or to have a beer talk! There’s a big offer on pints and beers as weel as a delicious menu to taste . notes . go for the mussels, you won’t regret it !! the fondue and burguers looked delicious too
Went here for dinner and definitely coming back. The food is really good, croquetes and mussels with bread and chips. We had the merlot wine but the beer list is enormous. Very good and not at all expensive.
Over 100 Belgium beers, I mean what more could you want in a place that is in the business of selling beer. These beers are seriously tasty! Not to mention the serious glass that it comes with it. Although accompanied by a hefty price tag (around 5 for a bottle) don’t let it fool you as some of these beers can be as high as 11% vol. Great place if you value quality over quantity. Also the location is in a small cobbled street tucked out of the way giving it a more relaxed atmosphere.
Jerusalem Passage is hiding a little gem. The Dove Bar is the little sister of the Dovetail located on Broadway Market. The great variety of drinks at the bar as well as the high quality food makes this restaurant a serious contender if you want to enjoy a good evening with friends. Be tempted by their Belgian beers, they are good!
4* crowd, 4* beers with 1* food. I usually prefer to chalk bad food down to experience and cast my vote with my feet, but that’s a little more difficult to do in the case of Dove Tail — their venue is a gem and I’m a Belgian beer enthusiast.I ordered a fillet of beef (medium rare) with fries. What arrived was a sliver of fillet, overdone to the extent that it was toughened and grey throughout. The fries were oil soaked the way they become when you repeatedly re-dip them. My accompanying sauce was a clarified butter and diced raw garlic. Fortunately the saltiness of the beef and fries was sufficient to mask the pungent garlic butter. The plate was dressed with tough salad leaf stumps better suited to a bagged salad and a few halved cherry tomatoes. Both of our meals were accompanied by a side of garlic mayo, and — you guessed it — that was pungent too.I will return to the Dove Tail, but not to eat.
