Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading on a Saturday is not for the faint hearted. After putting ourselves through a morning of shopping and a stampede of people we stopped at Cafe Rouge for some lunch. Cafe Rouge is a French inspired chained restaurant located in different parts of England. We walked in and were greeted by Stewart who is a very friendly and happy waiter and he took our order swiftly. We all went for 3 very different dishes. I opted for the Vegetarian Tagine. It was full of flavour and had a real kick to it. My partner had the Chicken Ceasar Salad. He commented that there was a good amount of chargrilled chicken on a bed of lettuce leaves with lovely avocado and cherry tomatoes. My father in law opted for a Cheese and Ham Omelette and this dish did not disappoint. It was very filling with lots of pieces of ham and cheese. It also came with a delicious side of French fries and we ‘helped’ him finish them off.This is the only Cafe Rouge I have been too and I have to say I was really impressed with Stewart’s service and the quality of the meals were of a very high standard. Well done guys
