I went into Adventure Bar kind of on accident as we actually wanted to try out Dub Jam. This was exactly the kind of place I would normally avoid: lots of drunk people dancing to mainstream music. But I must admit there was something about the place that was likeable and had I been more inebriated I could easily have become one of those drunk people dancing about. As it was, we stayed for our cheap Cocktail Week cocktail and then went upstairs to Dub Jam. Our cocktails were the kind of cocktails you’d want in a place like this – not too complicated, easy drinking, fruity and came with a cute fortune cookie. And the fun everyone was having was quite infectious and everyone seemed pretty friendly, especially the bar staff. jaminaward.wixsite.com

It was kind of like a descent into madness, if madness is a vaulted undrground bar full of hustle & bustle, tasty ass cocktails and groovy music.Okay, so my view is a bit skewed because I ended up a little on the tipsy side here. But I know a good bar when I’ve been to one. Obviously having excellent company always helps, but even the drearest of friendships groups couldn’t have helped but be perked up by the vibe in here. Rhubarb & custard shots are the future, that much I now know. As for a Grounds For Divorce? More like Grounds To Get In My Goddamn Mouth! I think that had apricot jam in it, or something sticky sweet along those lines. I have to say I’m not sure I can recall what the music choices were /precisely/ but I do remember wailing and screeching along to a whole host of them, and my taste is impeccable so they must have been good.Adventure Bar, I can’t wait to be in you again.
