Went here for dinner with my sis and mom one evening before watching in the opposite Her Majesty’s Theatre. We ordered two course meals; I went for grilled fish and mixed berry cake for desert. The food was tasty and delicious. The serving is not that big, but neither very small; just enough. Sis went for duck leg and some choco cake and mom for pasta. Overall I’m satisfied.
My husband and I arrived in London yesterday (Christmas day!) all the way from Australia, and had an excellent meal at the Brumus. We enjoyed the special Christmas menu – we each had the curried parsnip soup which was delicious, and I had the turkey and husband had the beef for mains. Both were excellent. Being jetlagged and tired we didn’t make it to dessert unfortunately. Overall, thoroughly pleasant food and excellent service. Highly recommend.
From the outside Brumus looks incredibly chic and smooth, inside is not. We went there as we had tickets for a show next door at the Haymarket Theater, and we had forty five minutes to spare, we ended up being late to the show as the service was just so slow. We simply ordered tea and cake and it was shocking at just how long they took to arrive. Once they had, the cakes were very nice and yummy, but just not worth the wait.
Superb. Had dinner at Brumus this evening with my wife and kids and my in laws. I couldn’t flaw this restaurant. It is rare to find a place that gets all things right so well. One of the most memorable restaurant experiences I have ever had.
Spur of the moment. My husband and I decided, after a failed attempt to get last minute tickets to see the Phantom across the street at Her Majesty’s, to have a bite here.We had no idea what sort of restaurant it was or what we were in for, and the whole experience ended up being a very pleasant surprise. We were very courteously greeted and quickly sat. Our waiter was extremely friendly and talkative, he really made our dining here that much better. The food was lovely, ranging from standard British fare like fish and chips to some more adventurous items. We will gladly dine here again.
Theatre Supper. I can often be spotted in the Haymarket Hotel bar sharing after work cocktails with friends (my partner’s office is just a few doors away). Recently they have added high tea to the menu and I had an opportunity to try it with visitors requiring a pre theatre bite. Not only was the tea time at Brumus traditional, delicious and everything you’d expect (plus a wonderfully whimsical and classic hotel atmosphere), I have decided that high tea is the perfect alternative to what is typically a rushed and unsatisfying meal before a 7:30 curtain. Leisurely Tea with Champagne it is from here on! Unless of course its J.Sheeky for Oysters…
