Stopped in for a bite & a pint on Christmas Eve & caught Chop Shop just before they closed for the holiday. They were gracious and brought me delicious oxtail croquettes–melt in your mouth with chilli mayo–and the truffled artichoke mousse. That and a London Pride lifted my spirits for the epic train journey out to Surrey. Yum.
Zero Complaints. Being an American in London, I had my reservations about British food. This place erased those. We had all of the cast iron skillet apps and the kitchen sent out a few of its jar specialties. There’s enough here for someone who wants to try something different as well as a picky eater. I had a lamb rib-eye for dinner, and it was cooked perfectly. The cocktails menu is well-conceived, and there’s plenty of local options for beer and cider. You cannot go wrong with this place. Highly recommended.
