Had the beef dosirak from the heat racks. The beef was dry and stuck together with not much flavour. The bean rice was dry and stuck to the paper serving plate. Mandu was dry and overly salty. The potatoes were ok. Small but dry. Overall not the most flavourful. However for the price i did not expect that much. Selection in the late afternoon is also a bit slim, they however did restock while we were eating there, the fresher items might have been better.
I haven’t had much of Korean food so having spotted Kimchee to Go (vs another Japanese chain restaurant around) I picked for Kimchee to get a change of pace.I wanted to try a few different things so I got the chicken Bibimbap and the Chicken Tuigim. The Bibimbap was something I didn’t quite enjoy because it had a fishy smell which I don’t like. I realise it’s one of Korea’s most famous dishes but it wasn’t for me. I think I just didn’t get it. It was quite elaborate with all the diced vegetables, chicken and rice. The chicken Tuigim was really good on the other hand. I like udon noodles and the tonkatsu sauce was done well. It was full of flavour. Highly recommended noodle dish. The staff was efficient and helpful.I would recommend Kimchee to Go for a different Asian experience & for those who are not quite familiar with Korean cuisine. There’s a full fledged Kimchee restaurant around which may be a better experience.
