Yes it is a student cafe, but I feel that compared to all the other student cafe’s at LSE, I like The Garrick by far the best!Good coffee, nice cakes and a good little selection of snacks and sandwiches. Try their iced blended latte, delicious andperfect on a hot day!
This is the LSE Garrick! So, come here if you want to be in an University environment – although it is not really ‘student’ price! It will be completely crowded at LSE students’ lunch time. It is sometimes hard to find places in the morning by the end of the afternoon. Staff is nice!Garrick has some successful receipts: the carrot (luxury) cake is a MUST try. It is a big piece and very nice to have with coffee or tea – I like it better with tea. If you are looking for something a little less sweet, try the almond croissant: it is really good choice too. The blueberry muffin and the pain au raisin are options you also don’t want to lose.For a fast lunch, there are plenty of options of hot sandwiches here! The open sandwiches are worth a try! There are also options of salad – but they are not ones to die for. For desert, I LOVE the Caramel waffles. But there are also fruit salad options!The cappuccino, the chai latte and the hot chocolate are delicious! There are all sorts of drinks here, however!
This is the everyday lunch stop for a lot of students of the LSE (and some other colleges around). My advice : good place to catch a quick bite, but definitely not lunch. This is a great place to catch up with friends over a coffee or a sandwich in a relaxed collegial atmosphere. I personally find the lunch over-priced and not pocket friendly for students. The Berry Frappe deserves a special mention, do try it out if you happen to visit the Garrick.
