A small but busy and delightful outlet in the ever-so-alive Strand near Charing Cross underground to gorge on some great Mexican cuisine with quite generous portions! The highlight is them preparing Guacamole Artesanal right in front of your eyes by your table (should you order it) with all fragrances doing a great job of watering your mouth! I can almost smell the lime juice, chillies, coriander and onions being mixed with the mashed avocados! Yumm!
We had really nice lunch here. We got three meals and we were totally satisfied with all of them. Also staff was really nice and the place is very decent with nice atmosphere. Toilettes were nice and cleaned. Also home made lemonades or whatever it was, it was sooo delicious! Had nachos with guacamole made in front of our table- really good! I would definitely visit this place again!
Ate here on a Saturday night, was really just meh. Food was in desperate need of seasoning and flavour. We got what our waiter recommended were the best dishes and they were both tragic. My wife got the enchiladas and I got a diced steak and cheese dish. Both were swimming in flavorless cheese and absolutely a chore to eat. We are from Australia and have a lot better South American food than this. Regardless of your motivation to remain loyal to the traditional cooking of the dishes origins a little seasoning and educated tweaking to flavours goes a long way. This place really just missing the mark, it was quite busy not sure why. Would not return. Wait staff were very friendly my only postive.
This is the second time I am having Mexican food, and Lupita is amazing!. I would say we accidentally found this restaurant and it din disappoint us!. Coming to food, We ordered tacos – three varieties (tinga, gobernador, pastor) and out of this we liked gobernador which is grilled prawns with melted cheese and Mexican special chipotle mayo and pico de galle. It was so nice we happened to go for another gobernador!.. Everything else was good, the ambience, staff and the music, was soothing.! Price reasonable! Would definitely recommend a visit!.
One can do so much better than this. It slays all the chains, which doesn’t really say much. And perhaps in London, it stands out to some, but if Lupita opened up in New York City, it would close there as well.In a word…. unremarkable.
Their margaritas were simply amazing. We ordered 3 different flavours – classic, mango and passion fruit – all of them were brilliant. Must try their guacamole artesanal – the server gets alls fresh ingredients to make this delicious guacamole at your table. They serve it with freshly baked nachos. Yumm! Chicken or prawn alambre was cooked in brilliant spicy tangy sauce. Very nice and relaxed ambience too. Lupita is my first choice to have Mexican food in London.
The guacamole made fresh on your table was a highlight! The food generally was very good and the place had a relaxed vibe which suited the food. The churros for dessert were also very good.
