Unfortunately, the only reason why i won’t give this place 5 stars is because of their ignorant, arrogant and idiotic bouncer…..no place for that lad at a Canadian bar, especially on new years 2016! As a Canadian – super happy to find a Canadian bar is such a lively area! Good atmosphere and friendly bar tenders.

Found this Canadian bar by chance when I was in Covent Garden. Had a quick dinner of burger & chips in this sports bar before heading up the Arsenal game. Pleasent food, would definitely go again.

It’s lovely to have a little piece of canada in London. But I was hugely disappointed in this place! Staff were super unfriendly and didn’t represent the friendly Canadian culture at all! There weren’t even any other Canadians in the pub.. The pub was mainly focused on Eastern Canadian culture in terms of decorations, and being from Vancouver I would have loved to seem some Canucks merchandise. The food was BASIC. Pontine – but made incorrectly Wings – but without ranch/caesar dipGood points: (drinks) Molson CanadianSleemans Caesars I wouldn’t recommend this place to any Canadian unless you’re DESPERATELY homesick…. You’ll only be disappointed.

Last year, I stumbled on a small piece of Canada in the heart of London and have been pretty obsessed ever since. The Maple Leaf is a sports bar on a side street near Covent Garden and whenever Ive been, its been fairly quiet but apparently it gets packed on NHL game nights as well as for the Super Bowl and other NFL games. The background music is a strange mix of Britney and Shania Twain which suited me down to the ground but Im not sure that my boyfriend felt the same way!The menu is full of Canadian classics including poutine which is melted cheese and beef gravy slathered over chips, sticky wings and mixed grills. My boyfriend opted for a Molson beer and we shared some nachos topped with nacho cheese sauce, guacamole, salsa, jalapeos, soured cream and chilli beef, getting really messy in the process. We sat back and relaxed while the Ottawa Senators played the Boston Bruins in the background and I pretended that I knew what I was looking at.Once the nachos had settled, we ordered a Maple Leaf combo which came with Southern Fried chicken skewers, breaded mushrooms, corn dogs, garlic ciabatta, corn on the cob and onion rings with garlic mayo and HP smokey BBQ sauce on the side. You order any drinks or food at the bar so all the staff have to do is bring it to you so make sure you’re not sat around waiting for someone to take your order! If youre looking for somewhere chilled out with no nonsense food and a friendly atmosphere then The Maple Leaf is for you! alexemilyblog.com

Bland Food. I paid 7.95 for Lumberjack Meatloaf at the Maple Leaf Covent Garden on Sunday 11 December 2011 and was appalled by the ‘Smash’ consistency of the mashed potato and the blandness of the meatloaf (packed with peas!) and gravy. Don’t mind paying 8 for a tasty meal that is satisfying but felt ripped off in this instance. And the Sleeman’s Honey Brown does not taste good, like the pint I had in British Columbia a few years back. Cannot recommend.
