Tried this place for small hunger & quick bite. Ambience is nothing great, very casual. Everything is Pre-Made from pizza to pasta to potato snacks. We tried their four cheese pizza which was average. It was on the street we were living so thought of trying. Overall if you are looking for anything great, its not a place. Rest for a casual small grab on can try it out. Its good for kids though. If you are an Indian and traveling with kids who are vegetarian then this place might meet your kids expectations.

Ideal location if you have a spare half an hour before a show at the Noel Coward Theatre which is opposite, Pepe is pizza served hot and fast, and in squares, and their toppings are exciting yet traditional. One wasn’t actually enough for me (or maybe I was feeling particularly hungry) but I ended up going back for seconds. However, beware the long lunch queue.

This is definitely a case of horses for courses. In need of sustenance prior to an impending theatre performance one recent Saturday night and with no time to sit and wait for a ‘proper’ meal – and with the nearby Notes full to bursting – we stumbled across Pepe Food, the Italian ‘street food’ restaurant. The concept is simple – pizza, piadina and pasta on the go and quick as you like. The piadina is made to order whilst the pizza and pasta are precooked and on show to all. One of my party went for the pasta penne which was instantly nuked in the microwave whilst the rest of us opted for the safe pizza option which upon ordering are given a molten blast of heat in the wood fired oven. I chose the quattro formaggi which, to be honest and I must admit my great surprise, was delicious. The bread was light yet crisp and the cheeses full of flavour. The accompanying house red was less enjoyable and distinctly vinegary in taste and came with some sort of strange sheen on the surface. I shan’t be ordering a second glass! The pasta eater was also pleasantly surprised and happily ate the entire bowl.As a fast food pit stop or post pub alcohol soaker, Pepe Food is a decent choice. Leave your gourmet hat at home and you won’t be disappointed.
