As we are sitting in the cafe , our experience here has been totally spoilt by the rudeness of the manager here. The cakes are beautiful but the manageress needs to retrain in customer service. Atrocious . I cant believe a manageress could be so blatantly rude to her customers.

Been to both Covent Garden and Hammersmith branches but this review is actually for the Hammersmith one, which for some reason is said to be temporarily closed. Just went there this morning and they were open.Delightful waitress and barista! All bright and welcoming. Good knowledge on the food. Great macchiato. Had mini banana loaf for breakfast, which was lovely albeit too sweet for my liking. The ambience in particular was warm and inviting. Plenty seats, comfy couches, and fast wifi to accompany a people-watching session. Location is great at Lyric Square. The Covent Garden branch was much smaller and busier, which was understandable. The service was rushed and not as friendly. Coffee mocha was so-so. Both sweet and savoury treats looked delectable but didn’t get to sample any.

Beware of the tourist trapPlace looked so awesome that we placed the order right away and sat down. This is an English bakery and not a French or Italian one . What that means that what looks good is not gold and what glitters is not so tasty always. That’s what happens to you if you hedge the book by the cover. Not going back here as the taste of stuff sucked.

In need for a sweet, we found Peyton and Byrne in Covent Garden. Through the shop window, the cakes just seemed delicious, so we got it. It was hard to choose but I opted for a La Di Dah Individual: a moist dark chocolate sponge, layered with a delicate strawberry and rose jelly, and rich chocolate mousse. And I can tell you, the cake itself matches the description. One of the best cakes I had in my life! Luxurious and yet delicate. Remained the wish to try all those wonderful cakes in the store.I think the prices are a bit high but they sure are worth it. The shop was really full so we asked for take-out (its cheaper too). I strongly recommend!

Stopped by for afternoon tea. Cream tea is 6.5 plus 12.5% gratuity (included). Warm, delicious scones served with plenty of jam, but little clotted cream. Espresso is lukewarm. Place is nice, but a bit loud due to acoustics in the place. Very polite service.

Very Disappointing! Coffee and tea out of paper cups! Plastic cutlery but worse yet stale cake. I’d been looking forward to going and tasting one of their cakes as they always looked so tempting when I walked past but I certainly won’t be going back.
