I am surprised of the good reviews for this place. I went there for lunch and the food is below average. The decor is basic but goes well with a French bistro. The service is very good but the problem is the food.
For the main cooked breakfast I opted for a French omelette, ever since Ive been to Georges in Paris last year, Ive become obsessed. Mastering the French omelette can be tricky business and you have to work fast to curd and make it smooth to getting it on your plate in one piece. The omelette I had was slightly over cooked and rubbery but the ingredients used inside were top notch. Meaty sauted mushrooms, melted gooey cheese and aux fines herbes had flow blown flavour.A tremendous thick slice of warm toasted bread was presented with handfuls of berries and strawberries. Drizzled with a running golden honey, the crust is crunchy with a soft sweet filling. Can anything this sweet is so heavenly made for brunch? thefoodconnoisseur.co.uk
Absolutely the worst restaurant in London. Absolute rubbish. We booked via lastminute.com. Ordered the 3 course meal with wine for 25 pounds which sounded reasonable. It was not worth 25 pence. The fish soup one could smell from outside the restaurant it was horrid. We thought it could not get worse but it did. The lamb dish was something one would get in a ”soup kitchen” or possibly a can of dog food, it was disgusting. When asked by one of the waiters if we had enjoyed our meal and my reply being a negative one I was told it would be better next time. Next time, I would not eat there if it was the last restaurant in London.
I like the space very much! It transports me to the Parisian brasseries, good food, attentive service, maybe a bit too much or too many waiters . Particulary like the garrafe size options but disappointed with the quality of the wines I tasted.
Great Lunch menu. They are doing a 3 course lunch for 15.50 which was great. Really good food service and high class place to eat.
No smiling. I like but the service at Les Deux Salons is very uneven. Too many apparently stressed staff who do not make eye contact. On my last visit (number 4 or 5) the food and wine were good but despite explaining to our waitress that we had one hour to spend she left us alone without wine for ages and the food took a long time to arrive. It’s a pity but I don’t think it is value for money,
