I finally had the chance to go to London’s oldest restaurant, and also sit in the exact same table that M sat at in Spectre!The dining room is absolutely sumptuous and the gilding is eye watering. Service was warm and friendly. I had oysters, my sister had the cauliflower and mussel soup which was AMAZING, my mouth waters thinking about it. It was rich and creamy and studded with massive mussels, so delicious.We shared the rib eye for 2, the beef was perfectly cooked and deliciously fatty, accompanied with salted cabbage, gravy and light and crispy Yorkshire puddings. We also had dauphonoise potatoes on the side which was very good.We were so full but couldn’t leave without trying at least one dessert from the tempting menu! The sticky toffee pudding was excellent, a light spongy and moist texture which came with creme fraiche which didn’t make it overly sweet.Highly recommended for a fancy Sunday lunch and experiencing a slice of old London!
