Decent Thai cafe with price of restaurant. The moment you enter the place, it lacks the smell of authentic Thai spices and coconut. Staff is friendly and explains the dishes well. Their range of champagne is good. Dessert menu wasn’t great so we skipped it. The dish I liked the most – Non veg platter in snacks. Menu card is colourful n easy to read.
We went to Suda for a dinner date and it was simply great. Food: Great food. The veg green Thai curryis one of the best I’ve had in London. My husband loved the Massaman curry too. Spring roll as starters were great. Right amount of crispy and not too greasy. The wine was nice, suitable to our pallette. They had a whole page of vegetarian menu and I (as a vegetarian) loved that bit!Ambiance: it’s was chic yet cosy. The ambiance was just what I was looking for, for a date night.Offers: They had a special offer where we got the curries at 5 each. That was a great deal. They do have some offers going on, its worth a look.Service: it was prompt, yet non intrusive. Pretty great.Overall, loved it… Superb… Recommended.
Awesome! Especially the small bowls of curry. Great concept. Nice atmosphere, cosy and stylish. Service was also good, accommodating our requests.
Went here last night (New Years Eve, Eve). Have had stomach cramps through the night and am now between vomiting bouts. Not recommended at all…
An amazing place to go have Thai food. Ambiance is modern and just a perfect setting for lunch or dinner. Pretty impressed with the Extra Vegetarian menu and the variety they had. Food was great and the service to.
SUDA opened in the summer of 2011 and is the baby sister restaurant of Patara (which I reviewed last year). At SUDA you are invited into a relaxed environment and chilled atmosphere, whilst you dine on high quality Thai cuisine – specifically sharing bowls and bites. In July SUDA launched the #ShareSUDA campaign to celebrate their new Small Bowls and Bites sharing menu. The menu brings together the greatest hits of Thai street food and is perfect for sharing with friends and family, just as it’s done in Thailand. As part of the #ShareSUDA campaign, the restaurant will be offering drinks deals on Mondays and 5 curries on Tuesday’s throughout July and August. So go grab yourself a bargain! It had a surprisingly creamy finish! Both curries were rich and well spiced. You could taste the different flavour notes between the two which was encouraging. The spring rolls and prawns in egg noodles were both nice and packed lots of flavour. The sauces alongside the pork and lamb were punchy and explosive with chiliLowlightsThe meat in both of the curries was very dry which was really disappointing.Although the sharing dishes concept is good, ordering down to the single spring roll is a bit annoying and actually not good value on certain itemsOverallThough I won’t be running back to SUDA it is a nice enough restaurant in a sea of tourist-y locations around Covent Garden. I would recommend the curries and also the cocktails – these were lovely.Thank-you to SUDA for hosting us. Situated in a great location in the flashy St Martin’s Courtyard, Covent Garden this is an easy, crowd pleaser- definitely good for larger groups. The menu is fairly extensive; they’ve gone for the ‘cover all bases’ option as opposed to careful selection of interesting or exciting ones.We started with some crispy prawns and pork skewers- priced per piece you can conveniently mix and match and ensure there’s one for everyone, though it can add up quickly. We also shared a couple of dumplings dishes to keep everyone’s hunger at bay before deciding on the mains. It was generally curries all round the table- a few thai greens and red ducks, as well as some seabass fillets in the red curry sauce, with rice on the side. All tasted adequate though the heat levels could have been pumped up a couple of notches!Overall, I wouldn’t come here looking for authenticity; this is the kind of place you head to when you’ve got a big group of friends to catch up with and the food is just there to sate your hunger while you’re madly chit chatting about your latest work dramas or travel adventures. connieconsumes.com
