The chandelier helps to establish a beautifully lit ambience that is light and welcoming. We opted for a slice of cake and coffee rather than a full afternoon tea. There is a selection of cakes available daily, each for 7. I had the ‘carrot cake’ dessert which comprised a tiny square of the cake alongside various creams and purees providing a saccharine journey through different textures and flavours. The coffee selection is limited unlike the variety of teas available. Scones are sold individually and are soft and warm, as they should be. Service was on the slow side, but it is worth a visit.
