Tried the fish and chips that were good as all other dishes needed a minimum of 20 minutes to be served. So might not be your best choice if in a hurry. The place itself is nice, location is good. Will come back if I have more time to give a better assessment.
A great location where you can have a beer after watching the Lion King at Lyceum theater. The spot is great and the service is excellent. They have a huge selection of beers.
When it comes to pubs and British food the Wellington is my favorite. We had a slow roast (best i had so far) and fish’n chips and both were quite good. Service was fast too. Recommended!
We had a beer here, on the top. They have a good selection and it was nice to be able to sit and catch up with friends. The pale ale was good but I had a Stella and then switched to Peroni. Fresh, calorific joy.
The Wellington sits on a corner on the Strand and north of Waterloo Bridge. It’s a favourite of city boys who descend in their hundreds upon it after work to enjoy the good range of decent beer which is to be had at the roomy bar. Around side is a good outdoor area with seating. The feel is of the traditional London pub sort with some thoughtful decorative details. The food is good if not cheap (the Lyceum Tavern next door’s your best bet for cheap pub nosh) and the dining rooms are large and comfortable.
