A lovely atmosphere in Kingston, service was poor. Had to keep calling the waiters.Starters was calamari for 5.95 and was very very average. 3/5Main course was a spinach and mushroom pizza – pizza was OK. Not very hot and not crispy. 2.5/5Also had a courgette pasta which was average. Not worth 10 though. 3/5Side dish was a spinach gratine which I didn’t enjoy. Cream was very watery. 2.5/5Overall considering the nice atmosphere is 3/5Would not return.

We started with green olives and house white wine. I had the sirloin steak, and my friends tried the mushroom risotto and one the pizzas. The steak was cooked perfectly. I tried some of the pizza, it was nice but not impressive. We ordered the banana cheesecake, chocolate brownie and tiramisu for desert. Tiramisu was a bit heavy, I wouldn’t recommend it for one person. The place is romantic and calm, so it would be ideal for dates or small group of friends. The only issue with this place was that the waitress was really insisting and sometimes interrupted our conversation.

I’m inclined to think that I was unlucky when I visited this restaurant – while most people say it’s fab, I can’t say I had the same experience. To begin with, it was a very busy night, but I’m not sure to what extent that excuses the quality of the food we had. It was mediocre, at best. Both of our starters were unimpressive – I ordered mozzarella and caramelised onion garlic bread that came with barely any mozzarella and caramelised onion on it, and my friend ordered tiger prawns, which seemed overcooked. With my main, I had the opposite problem: the asparagus and ricotta ravioli was undercooked. Had we been asked by the staff how our meals were, we would have told them, but they didn’t bother. Again, it was a busy night, but that’s standard service etiquette, isn’t it?

I dined here last weekend with my boyfriend whilst we were in Covent Garden, we love visiting Covent Garden and so we are keen to try out various restaurants we come across, this one being one of them!We fell upon this restaurant whilst searching for a place to eat, it offered a perfect menu as neither of us could put a finger on what we fancied eating! It offered a good range of Mediterranean food, including steak (perfect for Michael,he was sold) and a range of pizzas, pastas and risottos that I liked the sound of!We were given a nice table straight away on the 1st floor. The restaurant was busy, so we were lucky to get a table! It was a little cramped (I moved out of my chair a few times to let the people behind us enter and leave their table). This didn’t bother me, i’m quite easy going but some people i’m sure wouldn’t have been too impressed by having to move from their seat a handful of times. The service was excellent. Every team member was highly attentive and served us with a smile! Our waitress kindly guided us on the menu…I couldn’t decide between ordering a calzone or the mushroom risotto and so she gave me her honest opinion on the food. A lot of the time people do not do they and simply try to up sell, recommending the most expensive. Not here, she was very kind and also gave us information on the origins of a beer that Michael fancied trying! No fault in the service! We decided to share bruschetta to start as it normally comes with two or three pieces! We were a little disappointed when it arrived and it was just one large piece and we were very hungry! Although it was appetizing, we probably would order separate starters in the future! For our mains Michael had steak with Bearnaise sauce and I ordered the Mushroom Risotto with white wine, parmesan, roasted fennel, and rocket. Both of us greatly enjoyed our meals, the food was lovely! My risotto was gone before it hit the table! We also decided to go out and have desserts as we were thoroughly enjoying our meal so far. I knew from the first minute I laid eyes on the menu that the giant profiteroles were calling my name although I was disheartened to discover that they had in fact been removed from the menu! Nooo! But oh well, instead I ordered the hot chocolate brownie with ice cream and Michael ordered affumicato ice cream (vanilla ice cream with a shot of expresso). The portions were surprisingly small, which made me doubt how giant the profiteroles would have been, however we both continued to enjoy them, once again polishing off our plates!Overall we really enjoyed our meal. It had little disappointments here and there but nothing to be bothered about. We would definitely eat here again, especially if visiting with family as the restaurant offers a menu that would be favorable to a range of people. We thoroughly enjoyed the food; the atmosphere was buzzing as people enjoyed their dinner dates and the decor was chic, sophisticated and relaxing. A great meal.

Nice place, good foodI dined here on a Wednesday night, I arrived really early that I was on of the first customers there but shortly after, more people started to arrive. The staff was friendly and ready to suggest dishes.I was told that my meal would be 15min wait so they recommended me a ‘welcome dish’ of pesto and tomato pizza bread, it was very nice. They also gave me ‘baked portobello mushrooms which was interesting although I wouldn’t eat it again. My main was risotto with seafood. It had an interesting flavor even though I prefer regular risotto with other ingredients but the server said it was worth a try. For what it was, it was very good. For desert I highly recommend the sorbet of the day. I had that and it was just incredible. They also have a good selection of wines and beers. My bill was 30 which included water and a glass of sangiovese wine.Overall, a great experience and well-priced.

Wildwood Kitchen is perfect for a fun, flavourful lunch in the Seven Dials area. Located near the the corner of Monmouth Street and Shaftesbury Avenue, this restaurant features freshly prepared homemade Mediterranean cooking. And its delicious!Over the next few weeks I am going to have several features on Sunny in London which will highlight this great area of London. Why? Because I love it! So, lets start with my lunch at Wildwood Kitchen!I was kind of gutted when my lunch date ordered the Baked Brie, toasted sourdough, tomato chilli jam selection from the Starters menu. Simply because- its what I wanted to have! You can imagine how jealous I was when it hit the table. It was just ooey gooey super yummy looking.Since my first pick was taken, I opted for an old faithful- Calamari, rocket and aioli.I loved every bite of my food! Aside from daily seasonal specials, Wildwood Kitchens menu also features main courses in: Pasta and Risotto, Stone Baked Pizza, Grills and Seafood, and Salads. From the Pasta and Risotto section, I ordered the Mushroom Risotto, white wine, parmesan, roasted fennel, and rocket. Risotto always makes me weak in the knees. Having made this food many times myself, I know the key to this dish is a slow, steady stir. Without this technique, you just cant achieve the right consistency. My Mushroom Risotto at Wildwood Kitchen could not have been served better. However, once again my lunch date stole the show with her scrumptious dish Holy Healthy Eating, Batman! There was Goats cheese, with mixed leaves, carmelised onion, walnuts, butternut squash, and house dressing. With that many colors, I cant even begin to imagine the level of antioxidants she consumed. And, she said it was fabulous!Although the dessert menu looked ridiculously enticing, we both opted out as we had a full day of touring Seven Dials ahead of us.Our service at Wildwood Kitchen was great. The location of the restaurant is tough to beat. The interior was simple, chic and attractive. If you arent in the Seven Dials area, you can also find Wildwood Kitchen in Didcot, Stratford Upon Avon, Barnes, Oakham, and pretty soon- Ludlow. Id recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food thats well priced. sunnyinlondon.com
