We couldn’t be bothered to cook so we fancied a Thai- wanting something healthy I went for the Lemongrass, ginger, mushroom, coriander broth soup concoction and added chicken! this was around 7.95 + , and my boyfriend had the Basil chicken (which tasted odd- chilli chocolate coffee tinge??) also at around 7.95 +- these both came in the smallest/shallow plastic take out box you can get – mine had hardly anything in it just yellow pond water with a few floating mushrooms and 2 bits of brown ginger? (inedible) and some dry chicken! I had to cook some noodles with it and put it into the mix! – I would of taken it back but it was 10 minutes down the road and raining and getting late – hence this review! Overall very average, if not terrible! do not have a take out from here!
A lovely, intimate and semi-authentic looking thai on the loveliest street in Wandsworth. As expected of the Thai Tho chain, the menu was varied, well priced and every dish was delicious. The starter platter was a lovely mix of vegetarian dishes and very well cooked and moist chicken satay. The sweetcorn fritters were particularly wonderful and I would return just for these. The Pad Thai was well balanced, a great portion size and just delicious. In terms of service, it was a great mix between the ‘too fast’ and ‘really slow’ speeds of most places. I would recommend for anyone wanting yummy food and good service.
A large group of us descended on The Thai in Wandsworth Town one sunny lunch time and we all had a great time and enjoyed good food. I noted that during the entire time we were there no one else came in to dine which I suspect is due to the quiet location and proliferation of trendy bistros and eateries nearby. This is a shame as it deserves to be given a chance but it might also be time for a spruce up as it hasn’t changed for a good many years.I shared a vegetable spring roll starter which was light and crispy, then straight onto the main, a red duck curry. Unusually, at least for me, it was served with lychees and pineapples which gave this dish a welcome sweet and sour twist and despite my scepticism really works. The duck was perfectly cooked and the dish as a whole delivered a cumulative spicy experience so by the end I was generating some heat.Good value and tasty food.
One of the best Thai restaurants in London for food vs. price. Relaxed, great atmosphere for a small table of friends or an intimate dinner. Low lighting and attentive, friendly service make this place a winner.
