I would give this restaurant Zero Stars if possible! We ordered a home delivery from Pathiri Restaurant Greenwich at about 6pm today. The meal was delivered about an hour later but our one portion of pilau rice was not in the delivery bag. We had paid 30.20 cash in total. We immediately called the delivery man but he was really rude, and asked us to contact the restaurant as it is not his business. We then immediately called the restaurant and they were not even apologetic and kept insisting that the pilau rice should have been in the bag. We had emptied out the bag and there was no pilau rice in it. The restaurant manager was quite rude and kept saying that his kitchen had placed the pilau rice in the delivery bag. I informed him that this was not the case as the pilau rice was not in the delivery bag and there was certainly no reason for us, the customer, to lie about this! He then said that the pilau rice will be re-delivered when they find a deliveryman available. He just kept trying to hang up on me! When I pressed for how long this re-delivery would take, he finally said it would take 20-30 minutes. When the pilau rice was still not delivered after 30 minutes, we called them back and asked them to please return us our cash of 2.75 for the pilau rice, and the restaurant manager agreed. At 8.45pm, their deliveryman called us to say that his motorcycle had broken down near our home, and that he would not be able to come by tonight to return our money. He was shouting at us and was completely unapologetic. When we asked when will he return us the money, he said the next evening. When we said that we won’t be home over the weekend, he said he wanted our bank account details even though we had paid cash for our order. We then called the restaurant back to complain about this, and the restaurant manager again started going on about the pilau rice, this time claiming that the earlier delivery man must have dropped it in his vehicle. When we told him to please stop making excuses and just return us the money tonight, he replied that he could not return us the money tonight. We complained that this is unprofessional and he cannot charge customers for food that was not delivered at all, and then say that the money cannot be returned to us. The restaurant manager just hung up on us without any apology at all! We understand that it is just 2.75 but this is not how a restaurant should treat its customers. Complete bunch of cheats and this restaurant should be avoided like the plague! I’ve never seen a more a more unapologetic, unprofessional and dishonest restaurant in London before! Very disappointed, and completely ruined our family dinner (especially that of my toddler as we had ordered the one portion of pilau rice for her) and our Friday evening! I’ve attached the delivery receipt from the restaurant as evidence.
