Disappointing !!!!. My partner and I went to the Troway Inn yesterday for our Sunday dinner. We were shown to a table in the corner which was lovely and so was the view from the window. Other customers were getting their starters and I must say they looked lovely and plentiful. Although the prices were a little on the expensive side we were very hopeful. This was short lived. Our meals arrived after 40 minutes wait and my pork sirloin and black pudding were served hidden under a medium sized circular yorkshire pudding.Thats how small my portion of 2 slices of pork loin was .It was cold too.I was not happy. The black pudding was also cold and had a tainted taste as though it had been kept in a freezer for too long . It was served with two under cooked but warm roast potatoes and a small dish of veg which we had to share .Their was barely enough for one person. The pathetic gravy boat which contained a serving for two looked like it had come from a dolls set as it was so small. I asked for apple sauce and it arrived but contained cinnamon which I didnt like at all. My partner had roast beef which was totally devoid of all moisture and resembled tough leather .This was also cold.It had obviously been cooked hours earlier and left to dry out. He said he could have done with a steak knife to cut it as it was so tough. The staff were lovely and did their best but they are badly let down with the quality and quantity of food they have to serve up.I only have a small appetite and usually struggle to eat everything but I could easily have eaten a dessert. My partner felt the same way. We didnt want to waste anymore hard earned money so went home feeling hungry and annoyingly disappointed. We both agreed that 3/10 would be a more than generous score . Needless to say WE WONT BE BACK !!!!!!!

I visited the inn at Troway yesterday evening after being recommended by friends, I must say my experience of the restaurant was brilliant. The staff and manager couldn’t do enough to help us. The service was quick and all the staff had good sense of humours joking with us. The food was also excellent, with one of our party being gluten free the manager advised us and she was very keen to please and did her best to accommodate. We had the fishcakes on the special early menu and this was well worth the visit. We will definitely be going back.

Dreadful experience from the moment our group of 4 approached the bar. The me was average pub food served on a piece of wood. After the meal 10 pm we went to sit in the pub area. Staff were mopping the floor. Sitting with our drink we were asked if wanted more dry ms as the bar was closing 10.25pm. We were then asked how we would be oaying as they were cashing up. Three female members if staff stood in a group watching us, clearly wanting us to leave so they could go home. Now 10.30 pm!!!! The pub advertises that it opens til midnight. We paid our bill and left without finishing our drinks. – never to return. If you want a relaxing evening, this is most certainly not the place to go. Appalling. X

Lovely pub grub. I went to the inn at troway last year and the food was good but found the service very surly. Managers were sat around drinking tea when the staff were running the show. Must say that we went recently to celebrate our daughters exam results and the food was just as good as on our last visit, but what a surprise about the service… very good indeed. Keep it up, nice chap in charge and a nice girl who served us.Would say though bring back mini puds as they were a good indeed. We had an apple pie and I promise I will return the dish they kindly loaned me as i couldnt finish it. Well worth it, wouldnt say it was cheap but we dont mind paying a bit more for quality.

Inn at Troway. We used to visit the inn but had a few problems in the past but have visited it regularly since June, each time we have had a brilliant time and been looked after by the staff. One particular girl has taken care of us each time. The food is lovely as well as the layout and the service. I will definately be recommending this venue to my friends!

Now a regular eating spot for us. The food is excellent and very good value for money. Great views if you choose to sit outside. The pub treats are near enough a meal on their own.
