Amazing. Wish we had a place like this back home in the US (hint: open one in Orlando, FL). The stuffed mushrooms, a vegetarian option, were amazing! The mushrooms were tender, the stuffing was an excellent compliment, and the cheese was just the right amount and flavor. The lamb pie was incredible too, just the right amount of broth. Had the roly poly for dessert which introduced me to a new fruit called the physalis which both were excellent. The dessert was covered with custard – in the US custard is typically frozen or whipped, this was a liquid like crme anglaise. I hope I make it back some time again!

My husband and I went for our one and only date night, the beef Wellington was really good but the vegetables and potatoes weren’t cooked, really spoiled it for me, I won’t be hurrying back.

It’s ok, but over-rated. A bit ’70s’. This place has a great rep in Lincoln and visitors are often recommend to it but in my opinion its OK but nothing special. Average home cooked pies in a rather ’70s-80s’ restaurant. It needs either modernising or if it wants to keep the classic old fashioned look it should go to retro country kitchen. What it has at the moment is a blast from the past from about 20-30 years ago. The menu looks reasonable but the whole experience is lacking. Perhaps ok for a passing meal but not for anything special.

A bit boring. I tried this place on the reccomendation of a friend. I eat out a lot and had never been in as it doesn’t look inspiring from outside. I didn’t like it. It was a bit bland, samey and boring. On the plus side, the staff were attentive.

Delicious!. Warm atmosphere, attentive staff, and especially worth a lunch time visit for the same great service and delicious food at a bargain price! I have frequented Brown’s on many an occasion and have never been disappointed, good honest food with the attention focused solely on this, no unnecessary show off gimmicks, and special compliments to the accompanying veg, always cooked to perfection with that bite and crunch so many other eateries just miss. I cannot praise this place enough. A must visit for all.
