About
This J D Wetherspoon pub is named after the much-travelled artist Ford Madox Brown, a one-time resident of Victoria Park, a suburb south of the pub. Two of his most famous paintings, 'Work' and 'The Last of England', can be seen in Manchester City Art Gallery. The Ford Madox Brown is one of the few pubs left in the Rusholme area. It is Cask Marque certified and has 9 real ale lines on at all times. It also features changing guest kegged craft beers and over 50 bottled beers. The Madox is very popular locally, with a mixed clientele of local residents, British and international students, and employees of the nearby universities and hospitals. It is a big food pub, usually busy over mealtimes, and a popular place to start a night before heading into the city centre.
