Having been to this place before , the food was really mediocre and the service was extremely poor , very disrespectful. The first time i went to this restaurant (over 1 week ago), the food took ages to arrive(bearing in mind i had ordered take out and there was only 1 other customer in the shop). The woman was very slow, ordered my food then went away, did not give me any indication of time or if it was even being made, then 20 minutes later, she went on to get some food from the kitchen and sit down to eat, and i had to ask how long a simple sandwich will take and only being told a few minutes. After waiting 30 minutes in a docile shop for a sandwich i ordered, the sandwich was below standard expectations. So fast forward over a week till today, on my way somewhere i decided to give it another go and try their lunch special. This time i walked in the shop again, today : Thursday 27th march, similarly there was only 1 other customer (i now see why) and the same 1 server lady looked at me and smiled, however decided i was not worth the time and never served me , i stood there awkwardly for 10 minutes whilst she was putting napkins on the table and having a chat with the person behind the counter (whoever he was). HE saw me stand there and similarly decided not to advise her to serve me. After waiting and blatantly being ignored i left. Even the one other customer in the restaurant was wondering why i wasn’t being served. I have never been put in such an uncomfortable situation, as the restaurant was refusing to serve me, and giving me looks. If you are thinking of coming here, DON’T, it’s not worth the hassle or the price for lacking food.

Terrific Vietnamese with some unique twists on classic dishes. Big portion sizes. I would recommend sharing a starter if two people are both ordering mains unless you have big appetites. We tried their new dinner menu. The venue looks good. Not a hole in the wall like some of the Vietnamese joints I frequent, but a sleek yet quirky interior where you could bring a date.We started with vegetarian spring rolls and the cabbage and chicken salad. Really generous portions for both starters. There were 6 spring rolls priced at 4.50. The spring rolls were unusual because they were wrapped in crispy tarot instead of standard rice paper. Very light and and amazingly flavorful, given that we chose the veggie option. The dipping sauce was not a conventional nuoc cham. It was more complex and I couldn’t identify everything in it. I could discern peanut, caramel and lime. The cabbage salad didn’t sound exciting and was made without exotic ingredients such as green papaya or green mango but was a great fresh and herbal take on a Som Tam nonetheless. There was finely shredded white and red cabbage, julienned carrot, mint, Thai basil, thinly sliced red onion and plenty of toasted crushed peanuts. Chargrilled chicken on the salad was very tender. For mains we had a Saigon beef on rice vermicelli and the BAMI special. Big portions in both cases and the Saigon beef was extraordinarily tasty, though my companion didn’t like that it was not piping hot. However, that is just a characteristic of any Vietnamese bun dish that combines cold rice vermicelli and raw herbs with a warm stir fry. The beef was also exceptionally tender. My BAMI special with a spring roll, a little fried vermicelii, rice and honey BBQ pork was very nice too. This is good Vietnamese, and good value given the portion sizes. House wines are 17.50 a bottle.
