Really nice place – order las patatas bravas and the lentils! They were amazing! The chicken is also good but the veggie tapas stole the show. Also, the helpings are quite generous! We ended up over ordering assuming the portions would be tiny.
No room at the Inn!. We booked a table for four on-line a few days in advance and arrived on time at6.30pm on20 December. It was therefore disappointing to be shown to a high table for eight right inside the doorway which already contained four people who had sprawled out. Although they offered to move up, we didn’t feel well treated by the waitress particularly when there were lots of empty tables at the back of the restaurant. The manager was too busy chatting to deal with our complaint and so we walked out. Instead we went to Istanbul Mezze Bar (www.istanbulmeze.co.uk) in nearby Cleveland Street, where we were delighted to find staff who appreciated our custom.
Great food, friendly staff. Great range of very tasty food, staff were extremely friendly and efficient, and price was very reasonable. Recommended!
A to while away an afternoon here…. Fitzrovia has become Baby Barcelona of late. You genuinely could construct a half decent tapas crawl…Barrica may lack some of the glamour and column inches of Fino, Saltyard et al but I really liked it. Dark, bistro like room. Unusual specials (sand eels anyone?) and nto afraid to play with offal, STUNNING wine and sherry list, which is no surprise as the owner is/was a wine importer. Went for the not-100%-acorn-fed jamon which was lovely, nutty, beautifully sliced. Chargrilled squid, veal cheeks which had been stewed in sherry and were lovely and melty (though could have been cut a bit better, far too much fat remaining), salt cod fritters, a lovely sheep’s cheese served with almonds…manzanilla to start, a glass of godello (bit like albarino, yum) and oloroso with the cheese. Will be back.
Best tapas in London. Great wines, great service. The croquettas are just lovely, amazing pork fillet. Order anything, you’ll be very happy. Better than Barrafina, a little cheaper and with the skill of an Albion wines buyer defining the list, a more rounded perfect spanish eating experience you won’t find outside of Madrid. I’ve been here many times ( just wanted to keep it to myself for a little while).
Absolutely love the croquettas and albondigas, went there with a bunch of Spanish foodies and they loved it! Wine list is great too and all excellent value for money much so than the other better known tapas places in soho, if you like dehesa, salt yard, fini etc you’ll love this place and you can get a seat, for now at least!
