The Champion will reward the pint-supper for venturing just a little way beyond the usual ring of central London pubs. This attractive establishment gives the impression of great age and boasts a large number of pleasing details from the old photos on the wall to the brass fixings on the bar. The beer is decent enough and cheap, and there is plenty of seating, much of which is arranged in booths which are great for groups.Often less busy than the Soho pubs and only a little further out, the Champion is especially worth a visit at rush hour.

I came here recently with a couple of friends, and really enjoyed the vibe of this well executed little pub. The prices are very reasonable although the house red is something to avoid (you’re better off choosing from the wine list). This is a very centrally located place, slightly off the beaten track.

Cheap as chips. Stopped off here for a few drinks ahead of a friends Stag Weekend. Located just 5 minutes away from Oxford circus station. The Champion is a beautiful small traditional pub with old stained glass windows and great atmosphere. The prices are extremely good for central london (<3 for a pint). They serve your traditional pub classics. I had steak pie and chips with veg. Was a good meal and reasonably priced. so I left very happy.
