I booked the room above the bar for my 40th birthday, paid for a drinks package and sent a pre-order for food. Firstly there was no communication between the person I booked it with and the staff on the day and they knew nothing about the drinks package. I had to ask numerous times to get water and extra glasses sent upstairs.When the food arrived no one brought cutlery or serviettes so my husband had to go and find them and hand them out. After finishing food no one came to clear the plates we had to clear them ourselves. All of this we could live with but to top this off the manager came in and told us at 8.45pm that they were closing and we had to vacate the room. At no point was I informed that the pub shut any earlier than the advertised time of 10.30. So at 9pm myself and friends were turned out on to the street and my 40th birthday celebrations brought to an early finish.We spent a lot of money at the bar and on food and there were still a considerable amount of people still in the group. I would not recommend this establishment to any one.

As well as offering 9 draught ciders & three real ales on tap they also serve a pretty mean Southern Fried Chicken.Having enjoyed several portions of The Green Mans fried chicken, I can tell you now that they recently upgraded their coleslaw with the addition of pomegranate seeds fancy! Three pieces of juicy, seasoned fried chicken sit in a metal basket on a wooden board alongside fries, a mayo dip and slaw. How can you possibly go wrong with that? emmarosetully.com
Went there to watch football with my friends after work. It was very crowded – but I suspect because of the game. The service was very slow and our orders were mixed. But the atmosphere was great – everyone was in the spirit of the game.Good selection of drought beers and a fantastic selection of ciders. In fact I noticed a lot of people drinking ciders here. The food is not bad. We all had beef burgers and chips and lot of guineas. You have to order your food also at the bar. The prices are very reasonable even though it is very centrally located. I wouldn’t mind going there to watch another game.
