  Best place in London old but good, nice music, nice atmosphere, nice crowd, cozy and reasonably cheap drinks, I would definitely go back when I’m around again, highly recommend

  Located down a questionable dark alley, Troy 22 may be a difficult place to find. Once you’re there though, there are two friendly bouncers to greet you and to manage guest capacity. Entry is free and there’s isn’t a strict entry policy.Even if you’re a small party it’s best advised that you arrive fairly early if you want to get in. We arrived between 11-12 so we were fine but there were a lot of grumbles from people turning up later and not being allowed in. Troy 22 is actually tiny: there’s a narrow basement bar, a small upstairs bar room and then some stairs leading to the ONLY toilet (unisex). Cue many jokes by the women that the men will now also get to experience the dreaded toilet queue. The venue’s size, coupled with an overall lively atmosphere (due to many friendly European customers) also meant that it was very hot and sweaty inside, and we had to go outside for air breaks rather frequently.Drink prices balance out the venue’s free entry. There’s no menu around so I blindly asked for a double vodka and lemonade, and optimistically handed over a five pound note. To my dismay an extra three pounds was needed. To my further dismay I had to down my zesty drink because my friends had decided to go elsewhere.
