I dont usually write complaints but someone needs to see this. The staff in this shop are atrocious!!!! As soon as you walk in they are very grumpy and unwelcoming…. They do not like to be ordered or to be asked anything… And they also mumble things in Turkish, thinking we are stupid and cannot hear….Im a local, but I will never step into this place again!!!!!

Going back about a year or so this place wasn’t too great: the chips were under done and flavourless with the only grace being that the portions were HUGE. Then something happened, maybe a staff change but it seems they have changed how they run it. The chips are way better cooked than before and you do get less than you used to but id rather get less of a better product personally. If you live in forest gate then you know we are not blessed with fish and chip shops like gants hill and barkingside that are award winning. We have Everest and thats about it unless you want ‘fries’. Their burgers are large and well charred, the fish is well fried and their shish kebabs are of a good quality and I can say I am happy to spend the money here unless I do happen to be in gants hill or barkingside. Its a decent place and I personally have never found the staff to be rude.
What does it take to get a decent bag of chips around here? This is a terrible chip shop. Very poor service with grumpy staff. The owner (I think he is) is the worst one and if I see him serving I won’t even bother going in, I’ll just walk past. Waaay overpriced for what you actually get. 1.80 for a small bag of chips is bad enough but they are EXTREMELY stingy with their portions. You can see them going in with the scoop and picking up like 2 chips at a time. You’re lucky if you get 2 full scoops of chips. It’s funny to see them scoop up the chips and throw nearly all of them back.Quality is very bad. In your measly tiny bag of chips you will definitely get a few really blackened mutant ones and I have also been served with stone cold chips on several occasions. They are also guilty of mixing up the fresh chips with the old ones, I’ve also had cold and burnt chips mixed in with the fresh ones. Absolutely disgusting. This is the death of the East London chip shop. I’m giving up on chip shop chips around here completely. So this review marks my final interaction with this establishment.
Customer service is crap, I asked for half pounder with chips and no drink, the guy asked me with drink ? I said NO !! Burger & Chips ONLY !!Guy turned around and said It will cost you the same price as from the list 5.50, I said how ? your burger on its own is for 3.70 and chips for 1.50, and the guy actually argued with me it is still the same price, I said do your maths its 5.20. The did not even apologised and the goofy owner working like a staff member just listening and staring without jumping in the middle to apologise and deal with the situation.Same guy again wanted to give my burger with no cheese and tried to ask me 0.20p extra for each slice i said look at the picture it comes with 2 slices any-ways. Prices are HIGH !! I will not recommend this restaurant to any one 5.50 for a meal I should have had walked for another 3 more minutes to Mcdonald to buy myself a proper burger meal.Chips & Sausage price’s are actually higher than a a litre petrol, this restaurant do not care about anything not even with cleanliness and I do actually see the cross contamination happening in the restaurant.I had to throw this burger in the bin bun was soggy and meat was burned.Will not recommend this restaurant to any one, I will also report this to the council to perform health and safety test as well.
