Best there is. Take an ancient building decked out as a boutique hotel with individually furnished and decorated rooms, good beds and excellent showers. Add to this stylish cooking and all the good aspects of a country pub, in a superb natural setting by the River Wyre. But is the food any good? Yes, it certainly is – and very reasonably priced too. Try the duck salad as a starter, and the various platters are a great main. The ever-changing cheesecake is the favourite sweet. Don’t hesitate!

The staff are very good and very attentive, it just lacks a little atmosphere. It is worth a visit once in a while, not every week!!!
